Text Field
The text field defines the size and source of the text string that will be printed on each label. Options for the text field include: no text, fixed text, text entered from keyboard at the time of printing, text copied from the bar-code field, or imported from a .txt file. The text field also allows different fonts and font sizes.
Bar-code Field
This function defines the size, location, and type of bar-code field that will be printed on each individual label. The data properties define the source of the bar-code field data. Options for data properties include: no data, fixed data, data entered at time of printing, and data imported from a .txt file. The layout properties define the physical dimensions of the bar-code will be printed, as well as the bar-code symbology to be used (i.e. Code 39, UPC-A, etc.). Bar-code values can be sequentially incremented or decremented for each label with the option of printing the text-equivalent below the bar-code.
Label Definition File
A Label Definition File stores all the parameters needed to define a given label design. Once a label has been defined using the Label Design, Bar-code Field, and Text Field functions the design can be saved for future use.
